Judge's Critique​

I would like to thank Brian Foster and the committee for the honour of judging the Four Counties Beagle Club Show held at Ripon Racecourse in conjunction with the Darlington Championship Show.

​

The standard of Beagles on show was top class and thank you to the exhibitors for their entries which was very much appreciated.

​

My main winners were:

 

Minor Puppy Dog (4 Entries)

1st Eardley Trot on: Very smart puppy. Lovely overall balance, moved well and very well behaved for one so young.

2nd Felinoak Griffyn: Very nice head, good shoulder, nice jaw set and again moved very well. Good rear angulation.  

 

Puppy Dog (7 entries)

1st Eardley Party Boy: Lovely 8mth old, very pleasing head and shoulders. Held his topline on the move and very well presented.

2nd Clarismore Crown Prince: Young dog, nice overall balance, moved very well. Both puppies should do very well in future shows.

 

Junior Dog (6 entries)

1st Fallowfield Romeo: Very nice head and good reach of neck. Good read angulation. Lovely movement holding his topline.

2nd Annavah Justify: Another lovely young dog, very well presented. Pleasing head and shoulders and nice dark eye. Moved well and nice tail set. Another with a bright future.

 

Yearling Dog (2 entries)

1st Blunderhall Jacks The Lad: Nice young dog, good head and eyes. Nice length of neck, moved very nicely with good tailset.

2nd Bayard Bee Good: Nice young dog. Hard to assess. Difficult for the handler but should settle down in time.

 

Novice Dog (3 Entries)

1st Clarismore Crown Prince: Nice overall dog. Good angulation and moved out quite well.

2nd Maplelayne Serendipitous: Nice head and eye. Good Topline. Needs a little more to settle.

 

Graduate Dog (1 Entry)

1st Charterwood Herald: This dog gave his handler a difficult time, hard to assess. Nice dog, should settle in the future.

 

Post Graduate (0 Entries)

 

Limit Dog (5 Entries)

1st Eardleys Ready for Anything: Very nice compact dog, lovely masculine head and ear set. Great reach of neck with lovely top line on the move. Very nice angulation , well set tail and very well presented.

2nd Clairdale Fusilier: Very nice head and dark eye. Nice angulation and moved very nicely.  

 

Open Dog (3 Entries) – Lovely Class

1st Ch Fallowfield Fellman : Lovely hound and masculine head. Nice tight feet and lovely reach of neck. Great on the move.  Dog CC

2nd Charterwood Chancellor: Very nice dog, lovely overall balance. Nice head and good topline. Very nice rear angulation and moved well.

 

Veteran Dog (4 Entries)

Great credit to their owners, all dogs in this class were in great condition.

1st Ch Dialynne Peter Piper: This dog is a top winner and still in top condition. Lovely masculine head and well laid shoulders. Moved effortlessly around the ring. Res CC & Best Veteran

2nd Ch Shercroft Apollo: This dog was also in great condition, lovely head and nice layback of shoulder. Very nice rear angulation and moved very well.

 

 

Minor Puppy Bitch (3 Entries)

1st Felinoak Giggles: Living up to her name. Happy and enjoying herself. Lovely head , nice shoulder. Good tail set and moved well for one so young.

2nd Mackhovie Miriel: Nice young girl. Moved quite well but more head and body would be preferable.

 

Puppy Bitch (5 Entries)

1st Annavah Chantilly Cream: Lovely puppy, pleasing soft expression. Very nice topline, good rear angulation. Moved very freely.

2nd Clairedale Galatea: Very nice puppy , pleasing  head and expression, good reach of neck, good topline and moved quite well.

 

Junior Bitch (8 entries)

1st Annavah Teardrop: Lovely bitch , one of my favourites on the day. Lovely head and soft feminine expression. Lovely topline, moved very well and very well handled. Res CC

2nd Blunderhall Saucy Sally: Lovely young girl, good overall balance and covered ground with ease.

 

Yearling Bitch (4 Entries)

1st Ch Felinoak Ffansi Nansi: Very nice head, looked lovely standing and moved with ease. Correct shoulder kept her topline on the move. Perfect tail set.

 

Novice Bitch (4 Entries)

1st Velenco True Love for Fallowfield: Nice girl , nice head and good topline. Moved quite well.

 

Graduate Bitch (2 Entries)

1st Kingswin Jules in the Crown: Very nice young bitch,  nice outline while stacked. Lovely feminine head. Good topline, good tailset and read angulation with good flowing movement.

2nd Blunderhall Flirty Gertie: Very nice pleasing head, good ear set , shoulders and tailset.

 

Post Graduate Bitch (4 Entries)

1st Butterow Rumba: Very nice when stacked, nice overall angulation and very nice on the move.

2nd Madika High Flyer at Bonwilliam: Good head and nice expression. Nice level topline and good tailset.

 

Limit Bitch (10 Entries)

1st Annavah Star above Madika: Lovely head, neck and shoulders. Nice feet and good deep chest. Lovely mover and well deserved winner.

2nd Gladstyle Too Close to Call: Very nice feminine head. Nice shoulder with good rear angulation. Good topline on the move.

 

Open Bitch (5 Entries) - Lovely Class

1st Ch Annavah Princess Tiana: This bitch is a prolific winner and it’s easy to see why.  She is lovely when stacked, beautiful feminine head. Lovely neck and shoulders, lovely top line, well set tail. Handled very well and beautiful movement.  CC & BIS

2nd Molesend Crumble: Lovely soft expression, nice ear set. Correct shoulder and nice tight feet.  Moved with ease with good drive.

 

Veteran Bitch (10 Entries)

1st Ch Molesend Secret: This lady is in great condition, still very sprightly and moved very well and not showing her age. Nice overall balance.

2nd Bondlea Dove: Another girl not showing her age and credit to her owners. Moved very nicely.
